Manama: Bahraini officials say a blast has struck a bus carrying policemen as anti-government activists clashed with police on the third anniversary of the protests in the island nation.

The Ministry of Interior said on its official Twitter feed on Friday that the explosion happened in Daih. The community is a mainly Shiite village just west of the capital, Manama.

A ministry official near the scene of the blast told reporters that three police officers were injured in the explosion. He insisted on anonymity because he was not authorised to speak publicly.
